In the very beginning of time, God was good. Because God is never changing, he was, he is, and he always will be good. Sometimes it may be tough to see when we are facing a difficult situation. Sometimes we may doubt his goodness because of what he is allowing to happen in our life. However, I assure you, no matter what, he is like the song states, "a good, good Father".
He cares for you so much. He only wants what's good for you. Sometimes that entails going through a difficult development in order for us to grow, but we come out stronger in the end. When these circumstances arise, I like to think of God as "Abba", which means, "God the Father", but in more of a term of endearment like we would say, "Daddy". I choose this word because it reminds me that though he is guiding me, he is still allowing me the free will to make conscious choices and learn from them, just as a good father figure would do.
So, friend, I'd like to encourage you that in whatever season you're walking through, know that he is still good.
When you’re in the waiting season, God is still good.
When you're going through a loss, God is still good.
When you’re experiencing family trauma/drama, God is still good.
When you’re battling cancer, God is still good.
When you're feeling alone, God is still good.
Trust in the goodness of God. Have the faith that withstands the trials, growing stronger as you develop more into the person he's called you to be and as you draw closer to him.
